Cats continue winning ways in Leinster league

Kilkenny made it two-out-of-two on Sunday in the Leinster League when they defeated Ashbourne in Foulkstown. They needed to improve on the previous Sunday’s performance if they were to beat the visitors and this they duly did. A bigger level of commitment was the difference between the two teams and it was Kilkenny who had that little bit extra. It was still a very close game and the result was in doubt right to the very end. Kilkenny led 18 to 8 at half time and it appeared to be a comfortable lead but Ashbourne upped the pace in the second half and as the final whistle approached, the visitors looked as if they might snatch it. Kilkenny must be given credit for holding out and with the disadvantage of being a man down for much of the closing stages, it was all the more rewarding.
